Lucitian Republic

The Taliban of Battista (Italian: Il Talibano di Battista) is a pro-Lucitian centrist political party in the Battista region of Lucite. The party is currently in a governing coalition with the Neoliberal Peoples' Action Front (NPAF/FAPN) in the Regional Council of Battista.

Policy positions

The Taliban of Battista portrays itself as a radically centrist party. Its policy positions are broadly socially liberal and economically balanced.

The party has supported measures to increase gender equality in Battista including a stronger stance on reducing the gender pay gap, increasing parental leave and providing funding for women's health and support services.

Economically, the party has been considered neoliberal or third-way, with policies balancing a reasonably strong welfare state with a free market focus. It has often taken positions opposed to both the more centre-right NPAF and left-wing PDB.

In stark contrast to the PDB, the Taliban supports Battista's continued membership in the Lucitian Republic. It is strongly opposed to independence efforts but has from time to time supported greater devolution to the regions compared to the NPAF's strongly pro-Lucitian stances.

The majority of the Taliban's support comes from the English speaking regions in the South of Battista. The Taliban is often supported by Battistans who oppose the NPAF, however do not support the Battistan nationalist stances of the PDB or the Lucitian Conservatism stances of the Old Guard (OG) Party in Battista.
