History of the United Republic

The United Republic is the longest-lived extant nation in the Creative 1.15 map. It traces its roots to the Creative 1.12 map, when it was founded in late 2018. Since its founding, the United Republic has existed in three republics. The First Republic (2018-2020), the Second Republic also known as Corallium (2020-2023), and the Third Republic (2023 -).

The United Republic was founded on 18 November 2018 by _Travis and Phantom666999. The foundational states were Norwood and Vale led by the two founders respectively. Norwood served as the first capital. Government offices and Parliament was erected in Norwood by _Travis. On 25 November 2018, mastertyler04's city of Starburst was admitted to the United Republic as the state of Supernova. The United Republic lay dormant between December 2018 and March 2019, but returned to activity upon the return of _Travis to Project City Build in March 2019. In its early stages the United Republic was a parliamentary republic, with the Prime Minister serving as the head of government and head of state. It was not until May 2019 when Prime Minister _Travis decided to reform the structure of the government, introducing the office of President and scheduling Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

On 28 April 2019, the state of Newton, co-led by Governor _Travis and Premier mastertyler04 was admitted as the fourth state. Shortly after, on 4 May 2019 the State Asperia led by Minister-President Cavemaker, and on 6 May 2019 the State of Usonia led by Governor Wolfyyyyyyyy were admitted as the fifth and sixth states respectively. Elections were scheduled for some time in May or June 2019, but were cancelled by now President _Travis in early May 2019. On 5 May 2019, _Travis announced the United Republic would scale down and the role play aspect of the nation would be abolished. However, shortly after on 9 May 2019, _Travis announced that indeed there would be a form of role play government, and _Travis again affirmed himself the President and appointed Cavemaker to the position of Prime Minister.  The Cabinet was established as the primary governing body of the United Republic.

Elections for the Cabinet were scheduled for June 8, 2019 and Cavemaker, marshy_88, and Wolfyyyyyyyy were elected. The first Constitution, the Constitution of the United Republic Act 2019 was passed formalising governmental arrangements. Additional states were admitted, on 12 June 2019 Governor swordsman_dood's state of Libratia, on 15 June 2019 Premier IAintPopcorn's state of Amberwood, on 23 June 2019 Governor MattDB's state of Hylan, on 8 July CGH_2005's (later _ColinH) state of Espen, and Shibanu's (later KittenGrenades) state of Hub were all admitted as the seventh to eleventh states of the United Republic respectively. At some point in June, Phantom666999 (now DirectorGeneral or TownStat) dissolved the state of Valenhale due to his own inactivity. President _Travis also on 15 June 2019 dissolved Amberwood for its inactivity. While a by-election to replace Wolfyyyyyyyy who was voted out of Cabinet due to inactivity was scheduled for July 13, 2019, the election never occurred. On that day _Travis also expelled the state of Supernova and its governor mastertyler04. CGH_2005 withdrew his state of Espen on 16 July 2019 to form his own nation, the Padaic Republic. On 18 July 2019 marshy_88's state of Balboa was admitted to the United Republic. On July 18, 2019, President _Travis dissolved the elected Cabinet and repealed the Constitution of the United Republic Act 2019.
