Antonio Paramilla-Aguilar (February 10 1598 - October 31 1649) was a Spanish-Ajudigan plantation-owner, slave trader and merchant best known for being the father of mathematician and botanist Qjarax del'Coso. He was the founder and owner of Plantation Cristina.
Early Life
Antonio Paramilla Aguilar was born on February 10 1598 in Málaga, Spain. His father was Marco Paramilla Moreno, a merchant. His mother was Flores Aguilar Gómez. Antonio was baptized two days after his birth in the Málaga Cathedral. Antonio grew up alongside 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Settlement in Ajudige
Antonio was a merchant in Málaga, Spain. After hearing about the succes of his older brother Manuel Paramilla Aguilar, a merchant in the Spanish colony of Adige, Antonio decided to settle in Ajudige in the year 1620. Antonio settled as a merchant in Coso. Paramilla began a relationship with Cristina Isabel Francisca Santos Dominguez (1605-1688), the daughter of plantation owner Francisco Santos Carvajal. On April 29, 1621, Paramilla married Santos at the Plantation Esperanza, Coso. In 1622, Paramilla decided to buy the anbandoned Gandia sugar plantation. Antonio named the plantation Cristina after his wife Cristina Santos Dominguez. Antonio bought slaves from neighboring plantations and bought slaves from Ajuruba.
