Geography
Pacifica is a diverse country that encompasses many geographical features. The nation is defined by its mountain ranges including the Crater Range, Skokomish Mountains, and the Elwha Range. Within these mountain ranges, there are notable volcanic peaks like Loowit and Crater Peninsula (Quel La Cud).
The region is also defined by water with an extensive coastline and the Nisqually Sound, a large brackish estuary located centrally within Pacifica. Colloquially referred to as simply 'The Sound,' the lowlands surrounding the estuary are historically where native Coast Salish peoples and European settlers inhabited due to favorable water conditions, abundant fish, less topographically challenging to build infrastructure, and a more mild climate compared to the open Quelca Coast and mountain highlands.
Pacifica's political geography is divided into provinces with either counties, parishes, boroughs, or neighborhoods acting as the provincial and local subdivisions.
