Around August the 17th, 2024, the two governors of the UR states of Havana and Ellester, which had previously been sovereign states, discussed the future and both determined they should take full control of their respective states once more, and collectively declared independence soon after, forming the Federal Republic of Lucelia, effectively a state union between the Republics of Ellester and Havana.

Independence & Functions

Around 21:18 PT (23:18 CT), The secession of the states of Ellester and Havana were announced to the United Republic and the rest of the nations. While Cape Moss and the then-UR sanctioned the then-recently seceded states, nations such as Ajudige, EireNua, and others welcomed the new federation, with Ajudige and EireNua being the first nation to recognize Lucelia, followed by Jatkosota, Cascadia (then independent), and the PCBSSR.

Where Everything Stands As Of Now

As of current, most nations recognize Lucelia, including close allies Ajudige, Lucite, and others. Independence Day was on August 17, 2024 and the Lucelian government is in the process of consolidation.

Government Functioning

The Federal Republic of Lucelia is a political union of the Republics of Ellester and Havana. This union functions as a federal parliamentary republic with a separate executive and parliamentary capitals, which both function as capital of the union. The Parliament of Ellester houses both the Parliament of the Internal Republic of Ellester and the executive branch of the entire Federation. Each consecutive member state is referred to as an "internal republic
